Shells

These shells are not exact copies of the shells we see in nature, but more like imaginary shells in bright, beautiful colours. Using Moretti glass I slowly melt enough glass at the torch and attach it to a blowing iron. I then blow it to the desired size to shape it. I then cut an opening and decorate it and detach if from the blowing iron. I then place it in a kiln for eight hours to cool slowly. I sometimes make a collection of shells and group them together in a frame for best display.
